Skills for work programme

We have been working with young people at NCN in Nottingham to try out our 'Skills for Work'  workshops which have been designed to help young people be better prepared for work and learn:
  • The 4 key skills employers say are missing in young workers today
  • How well developed participants are in these skills and how
    to develop them further
  • What is valued by employers in getting and keeping a job
The benefits for the young people are:

  • Builds self awareness; what they are good at and what they need to improve on
  • Builds confidence and employability
  • Builds motivation and focus on preparing for work
  • Creates an understanding of what it will take to ‘fit in’ at work
We use a selection of exercises, games and discussions to help young people to develop their skills, talents and confidence in an informal setting with professional facilitators who are trained in helping people make the most of themselves.

Here is a selction of the feedback we have received:

'If you want to know the vital skills that employers desire then come on this workshop. You will learn how to present yourself, how to communicate effectively and how to work in a team productively'.

'Enables you to develop the necessary skills needed in a working environment'

'This will help in knowing more about yourself and capabilities and how to develop them'

'Even if you don't think you need to go, you'll learn a lot
